Objections, answered
Yes, we use OpenAI models. No, Echo AI is not a wrapper.
The model writes the sentences. Everything that decides what your customer sees, sells, books and pays for is the product Echo AI builds: grounded retrieval, guardrails, native channel delivery, a commerce and booking engine, memory and CRM, analytics and human handoff.
The honest version
Every AI product sits on top of a foundation model, the same way every website sits on top of a browser engine. A raw model knows everything about the world and nothing about your business: not your prices, stock, opening hours, refund policy, calendar or the customer who messaged three weeks ago. It cannot take a payment, hold a basket, book a slot, escalate to a human or stay quiet when it should. The model is about 5% of the work. Echo AI is the other 95%.
What sits between the model and your customer
- Grounded retrieval over your website, documents, FAQs, catalogue and policies
- Native delivery on WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, Slack, Discord, website widget, hosted page and your own domain
- Commerce and booking: Stripe, Square, PayPal, crypto, Shopify sync, memberships, Google Calendar, Outlook, Calendly, Cal.com
- Guardrails: jailbreak filters, disclosure modes, topic limits, moderation, pause controls
- Memory and CRM: cross-channel visitor recognition, contacts, lead scoring, tickets, history
- Analytics, weekly reports, credit tracking and one-click human handoff
Build it yourself, or launch this afternoon
- Time to live: weeks of engineering versus minutes from a guided wizard
- Channels: one integration and review process per platform versus every channel included
- Accuracy: build chunking, embeddings, retrieval and evaluation yourself versus grounded retrieval out of the box
- Selling and booking: separate projects versus built in
- Running cost: tokens, hosting, monitoring and your time versus one plan with pooled credits, tax exclusive
- Maintenance: every model and platform policy change is yours versus shipped updates
Frequently asked questions
Is Echo AI just a ChatGPT wrapper?
No. Echo AI uses OpenAI models for language generation, in the same way most software uses a cloud provider for compute. The product is the retrieval layer, the guardrails, the channel integrations, the commerce and booking engine, the CRM and the analytics. Take the model away and you still have a platform. Take the platform away and you have a chat box that knows nothing about your business.
Could I get the same result with a long prompt in ChatGPT?
You would get one good answer, for yourself. You would not get an agent answering an Instagram DM at 2am, checking live stock, taking a card payment, adding a booking to your calendar and logging the lead in your CRM.
What if OpenAI changes or a better model appears?
The model is an interchangeable component behind Echo AI’s own orchestration layer, so it can be upgraded or switched without you rebuilding anything. Your knowledge, guardrails, catalogue, workflows and history stay in Echo AI.
Why not build it myself with the API?
You should if the AI is your product. If it is a channel for your business, the cost is retrieval quality, platform reviews, payment flows and permanent maintenance. Echo AI costs less than one engineering week and still exposes a REST API, webhooks and an MCP server so developers can build on top.
Why Echo AI instead of Intercom, Tidio or Voiceflow?
Intercom is a support desk with AI added, priced per seat and per resolution. Tidio and classic chatbot builders stop at the website widget and canned flows. Voiceflow asks you to draw every branch. Echo AI is one grounded AI agent that handles support, sales, bookings and payments across social DMs, web and your own domain, with workflows available when a fixed path is needed.
Does Echo AI train models on my data?
No. Your content and conversations are used to answer your visitors and to show insights in your dashboard, never to train external models. Data is stored in the EU with row level security and account deletion removes your data.
Is credit based pricing hiding the real cost?
The opposite. Every action shows what it consumed in your credit history, plans are tax exclusive with the same number in dollars, pounds and euros, and the free plan includes monthly credits so you can measure real usage before paying.
